Nomadic weavers in the city of Bakhtiar situated in the Zagros Mountains make some of the most durable Persian carpets in Iran. Each knot of wool is beaten down to create a hard, thick, and solid carpet for the winter season! Traditionally, they are well-known for their Garden Motif patterns with squares of plants and animals covering the entirety of the rug, but also medallions influenced by the city of Isfahan, their western neighbors. Not only are they durable for heavy traffic they are easy to clean and maintain.
