We recently decided to replace our living carpet. After a number of less than satisfactory visits with retailers in Ottawa we made an appointment with Beckwith Gallery. I sent a few photos of our living room into Bernie in advance of our meeting.

Beckwith Gallery has a great selection of very high quality carpets, and Bernie’s guidance was instrumental in finding the perfect carpet for our living room.

No high pressure sales tactics, no mysterious discount prices. Outstanding products, service at very reasonable prices.

Working with Bernie at Beckwith Galleries was a pleasure. When we couldn’t quite find what we were looking for, Bernie sent us photos of possibilities not in his showroom.

He then allowed us to take the chosen area rugs home so that we could “try” them out in different rooms. Two of them were perfect!

In addition, Bernie handled the cleaning of our 40-year-old, living room, Persian carpet. Now it quietly glows.

I was introduced to Beckwith Galleries and Mr. Bernie Teklenburg by a friend very knowledgeable in the area of fine arts, including oriental carpets.

Over a period of about nine months (when there were no deadlines) Bernie provided outstanding, and professional service with thoughtful advice and suggestions, exploring and assessing my interests and needs.

Throughout he was focused, and creatively helpful, with interesting ideas. The results were excellent, and the carpets chosen enhanced one another, and the living spaces I provided, in a complementary and pleasing manner.

I was completely/100% happy with my dealings with Beckwith Galleries and the tremendous service they provided. Bernie, and his associate, Doug, were a pleasure to deal with and thoroughly knowledgeable and professional in every way.

Bernie came to my home and gave me a very professional assessment of the damage/wear to my four rugs and was very transparent and pragmatic about the extent of the work and restoration he thought was appropriate, which also kept the cleaning and repair work to a reasonable and realistic cost.

He gave me a well/informed estimate on the spot and took the rugs away that very day. I had them back in much less time than I would have expected, given the scope of the work, and they looked tremendous. The rugs are certainly 60, or more, years old - they have been in our household for about 40 years.

After cleaning and restoration they looked beautiful! The colours had been revived, the pile was springier to the step and the worn edges and fringes were all safely stitched and repaired to ensure no further deterioration.

In addition, Doug also came home and did an excellent/virtually-invisible on-site repair to the border of another rug (which, given its size, was not practical to take out). I am very grateful for Bernie and Doug’s timely and professional service and cannot recommend their work more highly.

We were looking for a carpet which we were gifted as a wedding present. Starting out we didn't know exactly what we were looking for. Bernie was a great help guiding us through the huge selection of different styles and color palettes. It took us some time but we found the perfect piece for our living room.

I had an Indo Kashan carpet cleaned at Beckwith Galleries. The pick up was prompt and I had it back within 10 days, right before Christmas. My carpet, which has a white background, has had a lot of use over the past 25 years as we are a family of 6 and have had 2 large dogs during this time. It turned out beautifully, as good as new.
